Located at the Fernie Family Centre, 521 4th Avenue. As you enter the building, the left hand side of the corridor along the wall is where you can leave your shoes, jackets & strollers. We also have access to the coat room which is on your right hand side just before you enter the hall.
Our facilitator will welcome you at the door and we will have a table set up for you to complete our sign in sheet & waivers. Once inside, you will see all the equipment set up, with the addition of a baby area with beanbag chairs in the corner for the younger ones. Your kids are welcome to run free and play with whatever their little heart desires. This is also your time to chat with other parents, sip your coffee and enjoy watching your little one have fun.
After 1 hour into the session, the facilitator will flicker the lights to signal the second part of the program, guided activities. During this time, we ask that all parents with free hands help take down the equipment and place in the storage room to be sanitize.

When children work and play together in groups, there is an opportunity for the spread of a number of common childhood diseases that can be passed from one child to another. Early recognition of an illness, prompt action and treatment can significantly reduce the spread within a group setting.
Do not attend Kindergym if you/your child(ren) have a contagious illness, including but not limited to Covid-19, cold, flu, Hand Foot & Mouth Disease (HFMD), “pink‐eye”, etc.
Attendance is permitted if adult/child(ren):
• Symptoms are consistent with a previously diagnosed health condition (e.g. seasonal allergies)
• Are not required to self-isolate, or self-isolation period is over
• Existing symptoms from an illness that have improved and are well enough to return to regular activities &/or as advised by local health authority.
Please complete daily health checks, by checking yourself and your children for new symptoms of illness. In the last 48 hours if any symptoms below are experienced, please do not attend the program.
• Fever or chills
• Blister/sores in and on mouth, hands & feet
• Difficulty breathing
• Teary, red, itchy eye(s), swollen eyelids, &/or pus/discharge in eye
• Runny nose
• A rash that’s likely to be linked to illness
• Headache
• Diarrhea
• Cough
• Sore throat
• Sneezing
• Body aches
• Loss of sense of smell or taste
• Loss of appetite
• Extreme fatigue or tiredness
• Nausea or vomiting
If the facilitator has symptoms of COVID-19 or is unwell, we will try our hardest to bring in a back up facilitator. If no-one is available, the program may be cancelled at the last minute. All registered families will be notified via email.
A quick reference intended to assist care providers with identifying illnesses and diseases commonly experienced by young children so that action and aid can be taken to decrease the spread of the illness to others.
